The piece titled "The Last Alamo" is presented as a tribute to our respected Veterans and to the mighty 155mm Howitzer, frequently hailed as the King of Battle. For six years, I personally committed my military service in the Army, specifically within Division Artillery, to operating this potent weapon system. The bonds forged through this experience were a fellowship more profound than I could have ever conceived. Despite frequently working in conditions that were frigid, drenched, intensely arid, marshy, parched, treacherous with quicksand, or mired in extreme mud, I wouldn't exchange those experiences for anything.
